Holy Manna is an American Folk Hymn arranged by Jayson Gerth for brass sextet. The hymn is from Southern Harmony, a shaped note hymn and tune book complied by William “Singin’ Billy” Walker in 1835.The words are: “Brethren we have met to worship, and adore the Lord our God. Will you pray with all your power, while we try to preach the word. All is vain unless the Spirit of the Holy One come down;
Brethren, pray, and holy manna will be showered all around. Brethren, will you join and help us, will you help the lost to win? Will you help the trembling mourners, who are struggling hard with sin? Tell them all about the Savior, tell them that he will be found. Brethren pray, and holy manna will be showered all around.”
