A powerful opening statement introducing the royalty is followed by a noble melody which encapsulates the essence of this lovely two section musical selection.  The second section features the clarinets and flutes, and feels more like being in a small royal chamber with courtesans.   
A Royal Welcome Home is written in Eb has a key change to Bb before returning to original key at the end.  Ranges are modest, but focus should be placed on ensuring the counter-melodic lines are heard.  Written for Grade 1 bands, A Royal Welcome Home can be used by more mature young bands.
